Lutheran High School South Uniform Policy

The purpose of the uniform policy is to:

1. Place more emphasis on an academic atmosphere in school.

2. Place less emphasis on the myriad styles of dress available to students today.

ALL clothing must be purchased at JUST ME APPAREL located at 232 Old Sulphur Springs Rd., Manchester, MO  63021. (636-391-3551).  

NOTE: ALL TOPS WILL HAVE THE LUTHERAN SOUTH LOGO.

Below are the OPTIONS available to students through Just Me Apparel.  

Boys:

1. White, gold, and black LHSS logo polo shirts.

2. White oxford dress logo shirt.

3. Khaki, or black khaki slacks-no denim, cargo, or knit

4. Khaki-knee length shorts.-no denim, cargo, or knit

5. LHSS logo sweaters and sweatshirts in black – must have school polo or dress shirt underneath

6. LHSS logo black, grey or gold fleece.

7. LHSS logo black blazer. (recommended)

Boy’s shirts must be tucked in and a belt worn.

Girls:

1. White, gold, or black LHSS logo polo shirts
2. White logo blouses.
3. Khaki, or black slacks. –no denim, cargo, or knit.
4. Khaki Capri -no denim, cargo, or knit.
5. LHSS skirt, knee length.
6. Khaki knee length shorts. –no denim, cargo, or knit
7. LHSS logo sweaters and sweatshirts in black.
8. LHSS logo black, grey, or gold fleece.
9. Black leggings-logo.
10. LHSS logo black blazer. (recommended)

Girl’s shirts must be tucked in or bloused with no other color shirt showing.

The administration reserves the right to adjust and amend the dress code at any time.  Clothes must be kept in good condition, and APPROPRIATE.  Holes in pants, frayed and torn clothing must be replaced. 

Additional Notes:

• Unless otherwise communicated (i.e. Spirit Week), the uniform is to be worn for the entire school day.
• No outerwear other than the LHSS logo sweatshirts and fleeces may be worn during the school day.  The sweatshirt or fleece must be worn with an LHSS logo polo or dress shirt.
• Shirts must be tucked in, and belts worn with shorts, pants and capris.
• For shoes, no flip flops or other beach-type footwear is allowed.
• At extra-curricular events, students, when not in uniform, should be dressed appropriately.
• Hats and head coverings are not to be worn during the school day.
• Undergarments are not to be visible.
• Any shirts worn under the Lutheran South uniform top must have the same sleeve length and a crew neck (i.e. if a student is wearing a short-sleeve LHSS polo, the shirt underneath must also be short-sleeved.)  Turtlenecks are not acceptable.
• The administration and faculty can make discretionary decisions regarding the suitability of certain attire.  Students not abiding by the dress code may be sent home and/or fined.
• Students and parents should remember that the child’s behavior and dress as they enter and leave the building helps establish our school image in the surrounding community.
