Lutheran South has been approved to issue I-20 Visas to international students who meet the LHSS admission requirements and wish to enroll at semester (January 2011) or for next school year (August 2011).
Materials required for application to Lutheran South by foreign students:
Applications to Lutheran South are available via email or regular mail. The application requires a $100 application fee.
In addition to completing the online application form, foreign students are asked to submit the following to Lutheran South:
Official School Transcript with all grade levels
Letter of recommendation from the homeroom teacher and English teacher of the student’s current school. It is recommended that the student has completed a minimum of 2-3 years of English study.
SLEP score or TOEFL score
Interview CD or DVD (with answers to questions below)
Financial statements from bank showing ability to pay tuition ($10,425 for 2010-2011)
Copy of passport and birth certificate
Health documents (including immunizations)
Upon acceptance, student will owe an additional $150 registration fee.
Interview questions:
1. What is your favorite school subject? What have you been studying and learning in that subject recently?
2. You are choosing to apply to a Lutheran Christian high school. How do you think you will benefit from this type of school setting?
3. Why do you want to go to school in the United States? What goals do you have for your experience here at Lutheran South?
4. Currently, what are your plans for the future after high school? Do you have specific career goals?
5. What activities do you like to do outside of school? Tell us something about your participation in one of these activities.
6. Tell us about the place where you live and something about your family.
Please note:
Lutheran South is approved to issue an I-20 Visa to foreign students accepted to LHSS. Lutheran South does not provide tuition assistance to foreign students. The student’s family is expected to pay the $100 application fee, $150 registration fee, and the full tuition amount for the student. Tuition covers textbooks. Students may need to purchase workbooks or classroom supplies.
Lutheran South does not assist with room and board or local transportation. Lutheran South does require students to wear school uniforms. Accepted students may purchase the uniforms through the specified provider, Just Me Apparel, upon arrival in St. Louis.
