LHSS Announces New Varsity Baseball Coach

Lutheran South announced today the passing of the torch for its Varsity baseball program from long-time Coach Tom Reck to former St. Dominic Coach Steve Pfund, a 1978 alum of Lutheran South and new addition to the Lutheran South faculty. To read more, click here.

LHSS Alum is NCAA Division II Track All-American

Congratulations to Christen Lauer, LHSS Class of 2004, who competed in triple jump for Truman State University at the NCAA Division II Track Nationals in Walnut, CA, May 22-24, 2008. Christen set a personal record and an outdoor Truman school record with a jump of 39'6-1/2" to earn a 6th place medal and be recognized as an All-American. While at Lutheran South, Christen competed in tennis and track and was the State triple jump champion as a senior. She holds the LHSS triple jump record of 37'0". Christen will attend Creighton University in Omaha, NE, next fall in their Doctorate of Physical Therapy program.

Congratulations Class of 2008

We bid farewell and God's blessings to the Class of 2008! The class members have accepted more than $3.2 million in college scholarships over the next four years and will finalize plans to attend colleges and universities throughout the country. Congratulations also to class valedictorians Katie Schumacher and Elizabeth Bramon who both graduated at the top of the class with perfect 4.0 GPAs. We pray for each of our graduates as they go and serve the Lord.

Summer Office Hours

The Lutheran South school office will be open throughout the summer Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with an occasional exception. Please feel free to call or stop by with any questions.

First Day of School

The first day of the 2008-2009 school year will be Monday, August 18. Student schedules will be mailed on or about August 1.

Freshman & Transfer Orientation

All students new to Lutheran South for the 2008-2009 school year and their parents are invited to attend the Freshmen & Transfer Orientation on Wednesday, August 13, at 7 p.m. at LHSS.

Thank You Thrivent!

On Saturday, May 3, volunteers spruced up the front of school by weeding, mulching, and planting new bushes and flowers provided through the Thrivent Helping Hands program. Thanks to all who helped beautify our school!

Class of 2012 

Registration for the Class of 2012 is coming to a close. A limited number of openings remain. Interested 8th grade students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Application packets are available by calling Mrs. Jayne Lauer; the forms are also available online under More Admissions Info/Application Materials. 

The Class of 2012 Freshman Orientation Night is Wednesday, August 13, at 7 p.m. at Lutheran South. New students and their parents are invited to attend. 

Transfer Students 

Openings are available in the sophomore, junior, and senior classes at Lutheran South. Interested students may request an application by contacting the LHSS Recruitment Office at 314-631-2842, ext. 426. 

Transfer Student Orientation Night is Wednesday, August 13, at 7 p.m. at Lutheran South. New transfer students and their parents are invited to attend.

Shadow Days 

If you are an eighth grade student or transfer student interested in attending Lutheran High School South, you are invited to schedule a Shadow Day to get a glimpse of what high school can be like for you as a Lancer.
